Our Story
Syntex America was founded by Luiz Fernando Valente, a Brazilian entrepreneur with deep expertise in international trade and the petrochemical industry. What began as a vision to bridge Latin American manufacturers with global raw material suppliers has grown into a multinational trading company serving clients across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
In 2006, Valente established Syntex's operations in Miami, Florida, strategically positioned to facilitate trade between producing regions and consuming markets worldwide. The company initially focused on thermoplastic resins — PE, PP, and PVC — building relationships with major petrochemical producers and establishing reliable supply chains.
The early years saw rapid growth as Syntex earned a reputation for reliability and flexible payment terms. The company obtained Dun & Bradstreet certification, reinforcing its credibility in international trade. By 2010, Syntex had expanded its product portfolio to include masterbatches, compounds, and specialty additives.
A pivotal moment came with the creation of e-Syntex, the company's dedicated plastics trading unit. This specialized division streamlined procurement processes and allowed Syntex to offer more competitive pricing and faster delivery times to its growing customer base.
Recognizing the global shift toward sustainability, Syntex entered the bioplastics market, adding PHA, PLA, and starch-based resins to its portfolio. The company also established strategic agreements with major petrochemical producers, securing preferential access to production volumes and competitive pricing.
The product range continued to expand with the addition of flat steel products, titanium dioxide, plasticizers, and synthetic rubber — transforming Syntex from a pure plastics trader into a diversified industrial materials supplier.
Today, Syntex America operates from its Miami headquarters with a multilingual team serving customers in over 30 countries.
