Titanium Dioxide
Titanium dioxide, also known as titanium oxide (IV) or titania, is a titanium oxide found in nature, whose chemical formula is TiO2. When used as a pigment is called titanium white. It should be noted that this compound is using in a variety of applications from paint and sun protector to their use as food colorant.
The most important titanium compound, from the industrial point of view, is the titanium dioxide, whose whiteness and high reflectance, allows widely application as pigment in paints, lacquers, enamels, paper, rubber, textiles, plastics, ceramics and cosmetics.
